I've had my Light & Motion Seca 800 for a while, but I've been using it on my handlebar for commuting for almost every ride.
Tuesday night was a first ride on the mountain bike with the helmet mount.
Now, I really like this light, but the helmet mount is a design nightmare. One offset Velcro strap is no way to properly mount a light to a vented helmet.
I've noticed, every picture on the web shows the strap on one side, assuming there is one on the other, and it is secure.
It's not.
At a Retail price of $500, I'd expect more from this light.
Zip-ties are no way to mount a helmet light. Niterider has a way better design. Link.

White ties are ugly still. I need to get some black ones at least.
Sheesh.

I’ve never used any of their lights before. Do you find that the predominantly blue tint helps at night/on the trail compared to lights that have a whiter or yellow hue?
Their LED is totally white, and I really like it. Very even pattern with no hot spots or halo.
As compared to my older HID from Niterider, it was more blue, and had a significant center bright spot and a halo. Not bad, but since getting the L&M LED, I like the light spread better.
I really like the LED for the road, and it is good on the trail, I just wish they would have thought out their design of the helmet mount.
Oh interesting, their site shoes that they have a blue hue to them. Maybe the newer versions have changed?
Yeah it’s a pain having to rig things up when they are expensive and in theory well thought out.
just saw this post, sorry i am late to the party...
a magicshine (or lupine if you wanna spend money) helmet mount is excatly the same but uses a stap to fasten both sides of the mount.
much cheaper fix than a new light anyway.
